Permissions

RPCTION asks for the minimum it needs to do its job, and nothing else.

What is required

SCREEN ACCESS

Required. RPCTION works from the rendered display, so without this it cannot see anything at all. Windows may prompt on first capture.

GLOBAL SHORTCUT

Required. The activation shortcut is registered system-wide so it works while another application has focus. If the combination is already taken, Settings says SHORTCUT UNAVAILABLE and keeps the previous one rather than silently failing.

CLIPBOARD

Required for output. RPCTION writes to the clipboard; it does not read it, and it keeps no clipboard history.

WHAT IS NOT ASKED FOR

• No microphone, camera or location.
• No filesystem access beyond the folder you choose when you save something.
• No network permission for the recognition engine.
• No accessibility automation of other applications.
